Patient Education Services

STS, as stated in our logo, "Because Patient Care is Paramount", is the reason STS was established. You may be asking yourself, “I’m having surgery, I’m nervous and scared”, rest assure that patient education, patient compliance, and information is the key to optimal recovery. This information page is a free service available to the public. STS strongly believes that the surgical patient is entitled to have a licensed and/or certified professional taking care of them while undergoing a surgical procedure. This is not true of all facilities, that is why STS has been launched, to assist those professionals in earning the credentials they deserve to better take care of you, the surgical patient. The patient places complete trust in the ability, education, and skills of their surgeon and allied health professionals in the surgical team.

The surgical team most commonly is assembled by the following healthcare professionals:

Surgeon (MD, DO, DDS, DPM)
Anesthesia Provider (MD, DO, CRNA, AA)
Surgical Assistant (MD, DO, PA, ARNP, RNFA, CFA, CSA, SA-C)
Circulating Nurse (RN, CNOR)
Surgical Scrub (RN, CST)

STS does not recognize on the job trained surgical staff. Although in the past, these individuals may have filled a void as healthcare personnel, proper education and training is necessary to keep up with today's fast paced technology in the surgical realm.
